First off, I want to express my gratitude for the outpouring of love and support for our family. You are all truly AMAZING. Far beyond raising funds to help our family, the Love Your Drums fundraiser is a beautiful example of the impact Dennis had in the world and it will be part of his legacy. There aren't enough words to cover it all - THANK YOU! Roan and I will be in Chicago along with Dennis' dad, Dean Stauffer. We look forward to meeting those of you who will be there. Dennis loved the Chicago show and we'd talked about joining him this year and I'm glad we can keep that intention. We will see you soon!

Now on to the business side of things....

Things have settled down a bit and now it's time to find homes for the Stauffer Percussion brands. Dennis spent the past 12 years building his business from the ground up and my intention is two-fold:

    1) recoup some of the costs involved with issuing all the customer refunds and closing down the business
    2) ensure that Dennis' hard work can live on as a legacy to his creativity and craftsmanship

You can assume that everything associated with each brand is included. All electronic files will be loaded on a hard drive for a smooth transfer. All of the web domains have been kept active and will be transferred as well. Here is a list of the brands and the price for each:

    Sounds Like Art & CNC machinery/technology $20,000
    Phattie Drums $7,500
    Black Label Drums $5,000
    Cocktail Drumsets $5,000
    Steam Bent $2,500

I'm willing to offer financing if needed. I'm glad to meet with anyone seriously interested at the Chicago show or we can arrange a time to talk. Feel free to email any questions to
    info@staufferpercussion.com
and you're welcome to spread the word.

I don't expect that the brands will remain as they are currently. My hope is that other builders can use their creativity to take the brands forward in a way that honors the level of craftsmanship and excellence that prompted Dennis' motto "Love Your Drums."

    In gratitude,
    Brittney Stauffer, Mrs. Stauffer Percussion

Ladies and gentlemen (okay, it's a drum forum, so Gentlemen),

The Love Your Drums Fundraiser is now LIVE! Holy shit. Great work to everyone who helped get us this far, now everyone needs to get involved.

I just posted it the following on the DrumART Facebook page here: http://www.facebook.com/drumartllc

    -------

We are proud to officially launch the "Love Your Drums" fundraiser to benefit the family of the late Dennis Stauffer, owner of Stauffer Percussion and Phattie Drums, who was killed in a car accident last January.

Thanks to the unbelievable generosity and skill of many of the world's finest drum builders from the Ghostnote Drum Builders Website, nearly $30,000 worth of the most amazing snare drums and full drumkits you've ever seen will be given away in a random drawing on May 20th at the 2012 Chicago Drum Show.

The Sweet Relief Musicians Fund will be processing your donations and making sure everything runs smoothly. For every $10 donated, you will receive an entry into the drawing. Multiple donations will receive multiple entries.

Please check out all the drums and drumkits on our website at http://www.drumart.com/loveyourdrums.html, where you will find more information about all the drums and builders involved, a link to the donation page and the official press release.

Please give generously, and please *share* this information wherever you can!

    -------

PLEASE share that post or post it on your own FB page, website, e-mail list, whatever. I will be adding it to the website and sending the press release out to all my industry contacts this afternoon and I'll be sending it out to the 12,000 or so folks on the DrumART e-mail list later this week.

Here's a list of the final links:

Please let me know if you have any questions and thanks again!

Next up: the timeline, badge and hang tag updates, and herding all you cats to actually get the drums to Chicago!

    --Jim.
